Individual music therapy
Music therapy helps children find harmony with themselves by celebrating who they are, in spite of disability, injury, or challenging circumstances.
Using techniques backed by neuroscience, I create a safe space for children to achieve new “firsts”—especially those people never thought were possible.
Who I work with
I specialize in music therapy for children with a wide range of diagnoses, including autism, learning disabilities, Down syndrome, Williams syndrome, Rett syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and other neurologic disorders. My practice also extends to typically developing individuals with specific cognitive, emotional, sensory, language, and motor challenges.
The process
Music therapy sessions for children are designed just for them, with personalized support to help them reach their cognitive, emotional, sensory, language, and motor goals. Over time, these sessions become a fun journey where kids make progress without feeling like they're doing hard work.
Every child receives therapy sessions aligned with their goals and abilities. The process begins with a consultation to explore specific goal areas and the desired outcomes of the child and their family. This information becomes the foundation of a formalized treatment plan.
A typical session will target treatment goals through a variety of activities, including singing, songwriting, movement, and instrument play. Progress is continually assessed to ensure we stay on track.
Through this holistic approach, kids not only make progress towards their goals but also get to experience the joy of music. This helps increase their confidence in daily life—far beyond our time together.
